Hot air balloon ride in Annecy

A hot air balloon flight in Annecy depends directly on the weather. We can only fly in light wind, with no gusts and no rain.

The weather is not an exact science… our pilot is the only person responsible for confirming the flight or not, based on the weather data available to him.

Despite all our precautions, and in very rare cases, a flight may be cancelled on site without TakaMaka being held responsible.

Safety: Only the pilot, as the commander on board, can decide to cancel the flight or set its duration, depending on the weather conditions and the landing fields available.

Taking off with too little wind is a bad idea, as the risk is a static flight — little distance covered and difficulty landing if we are above a town or an obstacle.

Taking off with too much wind is also a bad idea, as it would put our passengers at risk during landing or damage crops.

There is no « best » season for a hot air balloon flight in Annecy. What matters is good weather. Only the weather conditions on the day you come will make the difference.

To heat the air inside a balloon, we burn propane.

The balloon is first inflated with cold air on the ground, then with hot air to raise it and bring it upright. During inflation, several crew members hold the envelope open. The air gradually expands, which allows the balloon to fill.
